 In Armenia he studied with Armen Mesropyan, in the U.S.A. he received Master's degree in music and Artist diploma at the Yale University with D. Finch and A. Pariso. Prize-winner of numerous competitions: Markneukirchen International Competition (1986, Germany), All-Soviet Union Cello Competition (1988), Yale University Competition (1993, USA). From 1995 till 1997 was Principal Cellist at New West Symphony Orchestra. In the period of 1995-1997 was a founding member of the Madison Festival of Music in Wisconsin (USA) and a frequent guest artist in music festivals including Alaska's Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (USA). Joined the Quartet in 2000. Toured 30 countries of the world with the quartet, as a soloist, with orchestras and international music groups. He is known as a conductor. Assistant Professor in Chamber Music, Cello and Early Music Departments at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. |
