After graduating, Maria went on to study for one year at the “Antwerp Conservatorium” under Ilia Laporev.

At the age of thirteen, Maria was awarded the “Richard Kips” prize for being “a student gifted with an outstanding musical sensitivity”. In 2003 she was “Highly Commended” in “the Vera Kantrovitch” competition and “Leonard Smith” competition in 2006. One year later, in 2004, she won the “Vera Kantrovitch” competition, performing the fifth suite by J.S Bach. Maria has a great deal of experience in playing with orchestras including performances of the Saint-Saëns Concerto with the European school Orchestra, the D minor Vivaldi Concerto with Goldsmiths Orchestra and Rococo Variations with the Loughborough Orchestra. Maria has performed extensively through Europe and in important venues such as St Martin in the Fields, Blackheath Halls, Cheltenham Town Hall and Deptford Town Hall. In Ferbuary 2008 Maria will premiere a cello sonata written for her by Ken Paige, a pianist and former teacher at Trinity College of Music. She has taken part in Master classes with William Conway, Susan Sheppard, Gordon Back, Ralph Kirshbaum, Alexander Ivashkin, Anner Bylsma , Daniel Muller-Schott, Andrej Bauer and Steven Isserlis. Maria is currently studying in Köln Musikhochschule under Claus Kanngiesser and Thomas Schmitz and will be studying with Janos Starker in Indiana from September 2009.
