 Hannah studied with the late William Pleeth and Ralph Kirshbaum, and performed as a chamber musician with Lord Menuhin and Louis Kentner. She has made numerous concerto appearances with the London Mozart Players, LSO, BBC Concert Orchestra, Hallé Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, and has performed widely at prestigious festivals including Malvern, Chichester and the Manchester International Cello Festival. Notable awards include the Jacqueline Du Pre Memorial Award, the Pierre Fournier Award, and with pianist, composer and duo partner Simon Parkin, the Morley College Centenery Concerto Prize.
Chamber music plays an important part in her musical activities and she has enjoyed working with pianist Martin Roscoe and violinist Tasmin Little, with whom she has recorded for ASV. She is a committed and highly sought after teacher whose past students include international prizewinners, chamber musicians and principal ‘cellists. She is frequently invited to give masterclasses in addition to her post at the RNCM. |
