Born in Seoul, Korea, started piano at the age of three and cello at six. Since 2003, Yoosha studies cello with Prof. Troels Svane and chamber music with Prof. Tabea Zimmermann at the Hanns Eisler Musik Hochschule in Berlin. And since 2005, studies also with Prof. Frans Helmerson.
Kim has performed at the master classes of including M.Rostropovich, Gidon Kremer, A.Schiff. and D.Geringas.
As a prize winner at the national and international competitions, including Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation Award in London, 1st prize at the J&A Bears Classical Concerto Award in London, 2nd Prize at the Brahms international music competition in Austria, 3rd prize at the Adam international cello competition in New Zealand, 1st prize at the Liezen International cello competition in Austria , Yoosha has recording engagement with concert FM NZ and gave U.K premier performance of Roger Smalley Cello concerto, written for cellist R. Wallfisch, with conductor Diego Maison in London and gives solo recitals in Greece, Germany, Italy, Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Holland, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and in England.
