Eldar Iskanderov was born in Baku in 1950.
1973 - graduated from U.Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatoire (cello class).
1975 - 1977 - probation at Chaikovski Moscow State Conservatoire
1990 - courses conducting by "Amadeus" quartet in London.
From 1977 - work in BMA.
1992 - title of Assistant Professor
1998 - title of Professor.
1993 - 1998 - work in Turkey.
At the moment he is a concertmaster of the Cello group of U.Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra.
Awarded ``Honorary Diploma'' in Soviet Musicians Competition.
Eldar İskenderov is one of the leading cellist of his generation.Mr.İskenderov graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatuary under the tutalage of Professor Sabir Aliyev.He held a position in the Baku Music Academy while in postgraduate-studies in the master class of the Moscow State Conservatuary.İn London,he was in the master class of Mstislav Rostropovich during a summer course of the "Amadeus" quartet.His repertoire ranges from baroque music to modern compositions.He is also a proponent of "new" Azeri music.He has toured With an instrumental trio in Russia,Georgia,Latvia,Lithuania,Estonia,Ukraine and France.He has also toured with orchestra in the USA,UK,Germany,Holland,Belgium and Tunisia.Mr.İskenderov has performed with many prominent conductors,including: Niyazi,Rauf Abdullayev(Azerbaijan),Iegudi Menuhin(UK),Vekoslav Shutey(Yugoslavia),Igor Bezrodnii(Russia) and Gurer Aykal (Turkey).From 1993 to he alsoworked at Bilkent Music University (Turkey) as a teacher of cello and in its Symphony orchestra during the same period.In 1988,the Russian label "Melodiya" released three solo records by Mr.İskenderov.He alo Performed music by Azeri composer Javashir Kuliyev in a compilation record of the composer's work released in 2001 by the Turkish label "Raks".Mstislav Rostropovich said" I have seen Eldar for a very long time,he is a wonderfull musician and professional of a very high level."
