Graduated with honors at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in Professor Kazimierz Michalik and Andrzej Bauer’s class and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris in Philippe Muller’s class.
Performed in many renowned concert halls, including: the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, the Teatro Politeama in Palermo, Rudolfinum in Prague, Auditorium Rainer III Monte Carlo, the Witold Lutoslawski Studio and the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
As a soloist he performed with orchestras as: the NOSPR, the Polish National Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo, Münchner Kammerorchester, Czech Philharmonic and radio orchestras in Warsaw and Budapest conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki, Jan Krenz, Antoni Wit, Gabriel Chmura, Massimiliano Caldi, Peter Marchbank.
Bartosz Koziak took part in chamber music projects with artists as Elizabeth Stefanska, Kaja Danczowska, Andrzej Bauer, Roberto Fabbriciani. For the past several years he has been invited to participate in Krzysztof Penderecki’s concert projects. He took part in the first recording of “Concerto grosso” conducted by the composer.
Prices and competitions
Winner of the first prize at the 3rd Witold Lutos?awski International Cello Competition in Warsaw in 2001. 2nd prize winner at the Isang Yun International Cello Competition in Tongyeong (Korea) in 2006. 2nd prize winner at the Nikola Lysenko Cello Competition in Kiev in 2007. Finalist of the Prague Spring Competition in 2006. Winner of special awards at the Tchaikovsky Competitions in Moscow, the ARD in Munich and Prague Spring. In 2003 awarded of special award of Polish Culture Fundation given by Ewa Podles.
