Ivan Karizna was born 7th. February 1992 in a musical family. At the age of 5 he started to study music. He started to play the cello when he was 7, his teacher was a Meritorious Artist of The Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Perlin. His first public performance took place half a year later when he was 8 years old. The performance was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of a well known cellist and pedagogue A. P. Stogorsky, where he performed Contradance from L. Beethoven. Already at the age of 10 in year 2002 he attended the All-Russian open competition in the city Ryazan, where he came 3rd and he won a special prize- Hope. This is what a famous Moscow music expert V. Halopova said after his performance at the International Festival “Moscow Meets Friends“, which is organized by The International Charitable Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov in Moscow : "One of the festival’s discovered talents is a 12 year-old cellist from Minsk Ivan Karizna. Even when he plays a simple Gavot by Popper, it seems that he is a well prepared artist. The boy reminds me of the young M. Rostropovich: understanding the meaning of every tone being played, an amazing variety of fantasy, presenting the character of music in intuitive movements and mimics. As they say: "The music is written on his face", and it‘s as if technically complicated parts don‘t exist to him. We can only watch his further future" . Ivan Karizna got 2nd place for the International TV Contest "The Nutcracker" (Moscow, 2004), he got a laureate of All-Russian Open Competition for youth musicians on bow-string instruments and special prize for the best virtuous piece performance (Nizhny Novgorod, 2005). On The 2nd Yelsky International competition for musicians on bow-string instruments (Minsk, 2007) he won the first prize in the senior group, though he could participate in the middle age group. "It‘s a pity that this competition doesn‘t provide a Grand-Prix", - commented on Ivan Karizna’s performance the chairman of the jury, the laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, the famous russian cellist and pedagogue K.Rodin – because Ivan is a real Grand-Prix, not only among cellists but also among other instrument players, a true Grand-Prix, who you really don’t see in every competition, who you can see hardly in any competition"  In year 2008 Ivan became the second prize laureate and the owner of the Silver Medal in the V. Delphic Games of state-members CIS (Minsk, 2008). Ivan performed on many stages in Belarus, Russia, Belgium, England, France, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Bahrain, Lithuania, he participated in such internatinal festivals like "Musica Mundi" (Belgium), "Festival International de Colmar" (France), “Moscow Meets Friends“ (Russia), "International Festival of Yuri Bashmet" (Belarus) and other. Ivan Karizna performed with such orchestras like Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra (conductor Valery Gergiev), "Moscow Virtuosi " chamber orchestra (conductor Vladimir Spivakov), "Musica viva" (conductor Aleksandre Rudin), with a symphony orchestras of Nizhny Novgorod philharmonic and Belarussian State philharmonic, with Kaunas symphony orchestra and other. In 2010 he presented Belarus in an International Classical Music Competition for Youth "Eurovision-2010" (Vienna, Austria ) and he became the finalist. Stipendium and Grand-Premium of Special Foundation of the President of Belarus the Support of Talented Youth. Stipendium and Grand of The International Charitable Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov. From year 2009 he is the student of Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP). In year 2011 Ivan Karizna won 1st prize in ''Flame‘‘ Competition in Paris. In year 2011 he became the laureate of 3rd prize of XIV Tchaikovsky International Competition, like one of the winners he plays engagements with Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under the leadership of a world-famous conductor Valery Gergiev.
