Halopova said after his performance at the International Festival “Moscow Meets Friends“, which is organized by The International Charitable Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov in Moscow : "One of the festival’s discovered talents is a 12 year-old cellist from Minsk Ivan Karizna. Even when he plays a simple Gavot by Popper, it seems that he is a well prepared artist. The boy reminds me of the young M. Rostropovich: understanding the meaning of every tone being played, an amazing variety of fantasy, presenting the character of music in intuitive movements and mimics. As they say: "The music is written on his face", and it‘s as if technically complicated parts don‘t exist to him. We can only watch his further future" .
Ivan Karizna got 2nd place for the International TV Contest "The Nutcracker" (Moscow, 2004), he got a laureate of All-Russian Open Competition for youth musicians on bow-string instruments and special prize for the best virtuous piece performance (Nizhny Novgorod, 2005).
On The 2nd Yelsky International competition for musicians on bow-string instruments (Minsk, 2007) he won the first prize in the senior group, though he could participate in the middle age group. "It‘s a pity that this competition doesn‘t provide a Grand-Prix", - commented on Ivan Karizna’s performance the chairman of the jury, the laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition, the famous russian cellist and pedagogue K.Rodin – because Ivan is a real Grand-Prix, not only among cellists but also among other instrument players, a true Grand-Prix, who you really don’t see in every competition, who you can see hardly in any competition"
In year 2008 Ivan became the second prize laureate and the owner of the Silver Medal in the V. Delphic Games of state-members CIS (Minsk, 2008).
