Brazilian cellist Felipe Avellar de Aquino studied at the Federal University of Paraiba and obtained his Master's degree from Louisiana State University. He earned his Doctoral degree from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where he was sponsored by a grant from the Brazilian Government. His teachers include Alan Harris, Marcy Rosen, Dennis Parker and Nelson Campos. Besides, Mr. Aquino has played in Master Classes for distinguished cellists such as Janos Starker, Aldo Parisot, Antonio Meneses, and Ronald Leonard.
An active performer, he has appeared in important music events performing as soloist with orchestra as well as in chamber music in major cities of Brazil and the United States. He currently holds a teaching position at the Federal University of Paraiba - Brazil.
