Born in 1917 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From russian-jewish background. He first studied in Argentina and then He moved to Berlin to study with Emmanuel Feuermann at Hockschule fur Musik Berlin. In ca.1932,he entered the Ecole Normale Superior de Musique de Paris, where He studied and graduated under the guidance of Diran Alexanian. He was a busy soloist in all the major music Halls around the world and gave recitals with piano with his cuban wife Berthe Hubermann Odnoposoff (related to violinist Bronislav Hubermann). He gave a broad performances of latin american music most of them, works dedicated to him. He played under baton of such conductors as: Arturo Toscanini, Erik Kleiber,sir John Barbirolli, Eduardo Mata,Jorge Sarmientos etc. He was principal cellist in all the most importants orchestras in latin america as well geva recitals for many presidents. In Puerto Rico, Pablo Casals made him his teacher assistant for several years. In 1986, He, his wife and his brother Ricardo Odnopossof (violin concertmaster of Vienna Philharmonic),played for the last time together the Beethoven triple concerto with the National Symphony Orchestra of Guatemala under Jorge Sarmientos baton. He was cello Professor at the University of North Texas, College of Music, from 1974 untill his death in february 1992. He played a compound Amati cello ca. 1680.
