 Born in Australia in 1984, Pei-Jee Ng grew up in Adelaide and studied at the Elder Conservatorium. In 2001 he was Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year and in 2003 won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music where he studies with Ralph Kirshbaum. He was selected for representation by Young Concert Artists Trust (YCAT) in May 2008.
Pei-Jee has already performed widely in Australia, the Far East and Europe, appearing with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Malaysian Philharmonic, and the Oulu, Adelaide, Queensland, Tasmanian, Melbourne, West Australian, and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. In 2007 he performed in the opening recital in the Manchester International Cello Festival and completed a 16 city recital tour of Australia.
Plans this season include the release of his debut CD with Melba Recordings; concerts at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and Carnegie Hall and an appearance at the 2008 Adelaide International Cello Festival. He most recently was selected as a Park Lane Group Artist for 2009.
